Report of Officers

Principal – Davita Solter

·   Thank you to everyone who gave the school district a donation (tax credit).  On December 31, 2007 alone, the district collected over $100,000.

·   Frontier won this year’s food drive against Apache and Coyote Hills.  Frontier will host an assembly on Friday, January 18th at 1:15 pm to have the principals from Apache and Coyote Hills eat mystery food and 20 Frontier teachers get slimed. 

·   Over 710,000 soda pop tabs were collected for the Ronald McDonald House. 

Chairperson – Suzanne Bergen:

·   The Movie Night was a success.  Approximately 130 people, including 85 children came to watch the Polar Express and see Santa.  A big thank you to the girls from the Frontier Choir that announced Santa’s arrival with singing ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’. 

·   Daddy/Daughter Dance dates are Saturdays February 8th and February 15th

Treasurer – Katie Fuller: 

·   T-shirt sales have been good this year.  Approximately 100 long sleeved and 475 short sleeved shirts have been sold. 

·   The PTSO taxes are complete.  If you would like to review they will be on the website. 

·   The PTSO budget has approximately $1,200 in available funds after all budgeted items are spent.

Volunteer Coordinators – Jodi Nearing and Kati Jimenez:

·   We are in a great need for volunteers for the Spring Carnival!  This year the Carnival will be held on Saturday March 1st, 2008.

·   We are in need of volunteers for the Health Screening in January.

School Liaison – Christine Fisher: 

·   None

Meeting Coordinator – Stephanie Henzi:

·   December 5, 2007 meeting minutes were approved with no objection.

Communications Coordinator – Lori Wall: 

·   Not Present.

Committee Reports

Wildcat Tails:

·   December deadline is January 24, 2008.

·   There is a need for WCT reporters to write a report about any Frontier activity that you attend.  Send pictures, a sentence or two, a paragraph, anything! 

Fall Fundraiser (Suzanne Bergen): 

·   Look soon for a survey to fill out for fundraising options in the 2008-2009 school year.

Book Fair (Audrey):

·   This book fair did great and was consistent with previous years.  The library earned $1,500 for books and equipment from Scholastic and $2,000 cash (to be used for a magician for the library cards to 1st graders program and other Library events). 

Guys Night Out (Suzanne Bergen):

·   A night out with the guys to a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game.

·   Saturday March 15 at the 7:00 game.  Tickets are $20 per person and include a hot dog, soda and a Phoenix Coyote hat.

·   More information to come.

Wildcat Family Fun Night (Suzanne Bergen):

·   None planned for January.

·   We are in need for a volunteer to take this over and plan Wildcat Family Fun Nights.

Pizza and a Project Night (Mari Landreth and Rhonda Zieba):

·   The first one will be held on January 24, 2008.

·   The project is a Family Project Board.  All supplies are provided and you can eat and do the craft all at your own pace between 5:00 and 9:00 pm.  

·   Cost is $15.00 per for the project and $3.00 for two slices of pizza and a soda.

·   Please fill out the RSVP form to attend.

New Business

Fund Request Review (Katie Fuller):

·   None.

Monthly Faculty Appreciation:

·   This month’s theme is ‘Soups and Chili’ and it is planned for Wednesday January 16th

·   Next months theme is ‘salad bar’ and is planned for February 20, 2008.

·   Dates for the rest of the year include:  March 19th, April 16th and May 14th.  Themes to be determined.
