Frontier Elementary School 2008-2009 Confidential Parent Input Class
Selection forms are available at the front office and due March 21st.
·
Volunteer Recognition will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2008 at 3:15 in the
Library. The PTSO meeting will follow.
Chairperson –
Suzanne Bergen:
·
The
Blood Drive was held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 and the United Blood
Services goal was 19 donors. Frontier had 25 donors. Way to go Frontier!
Treasurer – Katie
Fuller:
·
The
Spring Carnival was a success. 18,084 tickets and 495 ride bands were
sold. The profit for the Spring Carnival was approximately $6,500.
Volunteer
Coordinators – Jodi Nearing and Kati Jimenez:
·
There is still a need for the Read Naturally program. A short training is
needed and then a weekly commitment (of as much or as little time as you
want).
School Liaison –
Christine Fisher:
·
The
Wildcat Deadline is March 21st.
·
March 19, 2008 is the next scheduled Monthly Faculty Appreciation lunch and
will be a Taco Bar.
·
The
February District Meeting discussed State Budget costs and how PUSD does
have resources/reserves in place and the enrollment is still strong.
Meeting
Coordinator – Stephanie Henzi:

February 5, 2008 meeting minutes were approved with no objection.
Communications
Coordinator – Lori Wall:
·
No
report.
Committee Reports
Wildcat Tails:
·
We
are in need for someone to take over the WCT for the 2008-2009 school year.
·
There is a need for WCT reporters to write a report about any Frontier
activity that you attend. Send pictures, a sentence or two, a paragraph,
anything!
Guys Night Out:
·
A
night out with the guys to a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game.
·
Saturday March 15 at the 7:00 game. Tickets are $20 per person and include
a hot dog, soda and a Phoenix Coyote hat.
·
132
tickets were sold and will be distributed this week.
Wildcat Family
Fun Night (Suzanne Bergen):
·
None are planned for March. This month was offered to the 8th
grade promotions dance committee to help them raise funds.
·
We
are in need of a volunteer to take this over and plan Wildcat Family Fun
Nights.
Frontier Carnival
(Suzanne Bergen):
·
The
Carnival was a huge success and went very smoothly. Thanks to ALL who
helped!
BoxTops/Campbell’s
Labels (Suzanne Bergen):
·
For
bringing in 1,738 BoxTops, Mrs. Rodriguez’s class won a pizza party.
·
Approximately $2,200 has been earned to date for BoxTops and 6,700 points
for the Campbell’s Labels which will be carried over to next year.
New Business

·

Monthly Faculty
Appreciation:
·
This month’s theme is a ‘Taco Bar’ and is planned for March 19, 2008.
·
Dates for the rest of the year include: April 16th, which will
be a desert bar with a chocolate fountain and May 7th, which will
be in place of the final luncheon usually planned by Lisa Madeya (Lisa to be
advised).
2008-2009
Elections:
·
Please volunteer for a position on the PTSO board next year. All board
positions are open and Katie Fuller will be running for re-election.
·
A
letter of intent to run and a short biography are required by March 19th.
Ballots will be distributed on April 2nd. Susan Nelson and
Carol Satran volunteered to be on the Elections Committee. Thanks for your
help
Open Forum
·
The
school has received five more donated trees and dirt from local nurseries.
·
A
decision on the 2008-2009 fundraiser will occur next meeting. Lisa
VelaBrogan volunteered to chair next year’s fundraiser if Suzanne Bergen
remains as PTSO President and is unable to chair the fundraiser.
·
The
next book fair is to be held on May 8th, 2008.
