Report of Officers

Principal – Davita Solter

·   Girls softball won the District championship.

·   Brittney Pace won second place in the speech contest.

Chairperson – Suzanne Bergen:

·   Discussion about projects at Frontier to be paid for with the PTSO funds:  benches for dugouts, trophy case.

·   Raised approximately $20,000 this year.  Thanks to everyone!!

·   Meet your new board for the 2008-2009 school year:  Suzanne Bergen – Chairperson; Katie Fuller – Treasurer; Kati Jimenez – Volunteer Coordinator; and Stephanie Henzi – Meeting Coordinator.

Treasurer – Katie Fuller: 

·   Currently there is approximately $10,000 in available funds (after the mandatory $5,000 rollover to next year and $10,500 already budgeted items).

Volunteer Coordinators – Jodi Nearing and Kati Jimenez:

·   Sign-ups for volunteers will be sent out again and it will be asked that you re-volunteer for any position/event.

School Liaison – Christine Fisher: 

·   No report

Meeting Coordinator – Stephanie Henzi:

·   April 1, 2008 meeting minutes were approved with no objection.

Communications Coordinator – Lori Wall: 

·   No report.

Committee Reports

Wildcat Tails (Christine Fischer):

·   There is a possible new WCT editor in the works for next year!

Book Fair (Debra Chase):

·   Book fair will run for 5 days and during Expo night.  There are enough volunteers for this event.

 

Silent Auction (Christine Fischer):

·   There will be no silent auction during the Expo night.   There were no volunteers to find donations and many companies were not interested in donating (due to many previous donations throughout the school year).

Faculty Appreciation (Debra Chase and Lori Wall):

·   Faculty Appreciation Luncheons will be four times each year with a full meal.

           

Special Orders

PTSO Board Appointee (Suzanne Bergen):

·   Lori Wall was appointed as Communications Coordinator.

New Business

Fund Request Review (Katie Fuller):

·   A request for up to $5,000 for dugout benches was made.  The motion was approved with no objection.

·   A request for up to $150 for Perfect Attendance Awards (gift cards) was made.  The motion was approved with no objection.

Fall Fundraiser:

·   Lisa VelaBrogan is the new chairperson.

·   Many choices were discussed for the fall fundraiser and include:  cookie dough (top pick from the survey), Sees candy, cookbook, Frontier Elementary directory, Entertainment book. 

·   It was decided at the meeting to go with Entertainment Company for the 2008-2009 school year fundraiser selling both the Entertainment coupon books and cookie dough.

Old Business

·   All Frontier Welcome mats were delivered.

Open Forum

·   The Frontier Expo will be held on May 8th, 2008.  The 8th Grade Promotion team will be selling any remainder Frontier Wildcat t-shirts to earn money for the promotion.

·   The book fair will be held on May 7th through 16th, 2008.
