Reports/Discussions

PTSO Website

  • To be included on the website is Meeting Minutes (now to include unapproved minutes to be posted asap), updated By-Laws, Upcoming Events, and Event Chairpersons. 

 Events Chairpersons:   

·                           Will be given a task list for each event that will outline the responsibilities of the Chairperson and a form to fill out describing the tasks/event contacts (to help future Chairpersons to that event).

Fall Fundraiser:

·         A proposal for two $50.00 gift certificates for the top two student sellers and pizza/ice cream for the top selling classes.  Approved with no objections.

First Aid Suitcases:

·         An order has been placed through Target directly for the remaining 33 suitcases. There has been a price increase and we are trying to get a discount to keep at the $9.99 price

Teacher Appreciation: 

  • Discussed a monthly Teacher Appreciation.  Possibly on the second Wednesday of each month.  Organize snacks/treats for the teachers on that day.  Lori Wall will organize the monthly event and will ask for volunteers to provide items. 
  • This month will be apples and chocolates.  Funds ($50) for the food was proposed and approved with no objection. 

Wildcat Tales:

  • Discussed no limitation of the number of ads/size.
  • A proposal for faculty discounts on the ads was approved with no objection. 

Wildcat Long Sleeve T-Shirts:

  • We previewed the new long sleeved t-shirts to sell at $13.00 each.  They have the same wildcat as the short-sleeved, and now say ‘Proud to Be Excelling’.

Report of Officers

Principal – Davita Solter
· Frontier’s Finest assemblies will be held once a month. At the last meeting, there were Staff Recognition awards and it was a huge success. Don’t forget to vote for the staff you would like recognized next month.
· On Monday October 15 there will be a Site Council Meeting to set goals. Last years goals were on writing and those goals were surpassed!
· On Friday October 12, the entire school will be watching the Sunrise Mountain High School parade and then gathering for an assembly. A kick-off of the Character Count program will also be held.

Chairperson – Suzanne Bergen:
· No report.

Treasurer – Katie Fuller:
· T-shirt sales are currently a profit of approximately $1600.
· The PTSO taxes are almost complete.

Volunteer Coordinators – Jodi Nearing and Kati Jimenez:
· There is a need for the Read Naturally program volunteers. There is a training needed and then a weekly commitment (of as much or as little time as you want) is needed.

School Liaison – Christine Fisher:
· Discussed attendance at the District Office Dinner. The District is now implementing a recorded message program for announcements and/or emergencies. Please visit the Peoria Unified School District Website for all up to date information.

Meeting Coordinator – Stephanie Henzi:
· September 11, 2007 meeting minutes were approved with no objection.

Communications Coordinator – Lori Wall:
· September’s WCT was issued to according to the new forms/# of copies per family as requested.

Committee Reports

Wildcat Tails (Christine Fischer):
· There are now ˝ page advertisements.
· There is a need for WCT reporters to write a report about ant Frontier activity that you attend. Send pictures, a sentence or two, a paragraph, anything!

Fall Fundraiser (Suzanne Bergen):
· This year’s fundraiser totaled $31,500 in which Frontier earns 51% of. ˝ of the profits go to the school and ˝ goes to the PTSO. Delivery will be the first or second week in November.
· A survey will be sent out to determine requests for next year’s fundraiser.

Mother/Son Bowling (Lori Wall & Jodi Nearing):
· Ticket reservation forms will go out this week.
· Bowling days are November 3 & 10 from 2:00 – 4:30 pm.

Book Fair (Joan Barolli, not present):
· The ‘Chill Out With A Good Book’ Book Fair will be held 11/26/07-11/30/07 & 12/3/07.
· There is a need for volunteers for this event.

Campbell’s Labels/BoxTops (Joan Barolli, not present):
· Party for winning classroom will be October 25, 2007.

Ladies Only Event (Anna Maria Tofani):
· The event is held at Theater Works for a production of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’. This event will be held on December 1st and 2nd which includes the show and a social hour.
· There are now 3 shows and 200 seats sold.

Carnival (Suzanne Bergen):
· Having no silent auction this year is under consideration.
· The bouncies, rides, games and the DJ have been reserved. New attractions have been added.

Wildcat Family Fun Night (Tracy, not present):
· In the process of working out a Family Fun Night at NYPD Pizza.

New Business

· A Fund Request Review (Katie Fuller): A request for plastic recycling tubs in every classroom at $600 for 75 containers. The Request was approved with no objection.
· Phoenix Children’s Hospital holiday cards will be sold on campus again this year. Frontier student, Kelly Minor, has created one of the cards.
· PEEF Dinner: will be held on Thursday November 1, 2007. This Foundation recognizes seven people/groups and awards grants. $100 was approved without objection to create a silent auction basket for this event.

Open Forum
· The 8th Grade promotion meeting will be held on October 16, 2007 at 6:00 pm.
· The Arts Masterpiece program is underway and forms are being collected.
